Bathroom Renovations Sydney

If your bathroom is tired, leaking, or just hasn't moved with the times, we can help. Aussie Bathroom Renovations is a licensed Sydney building company led by Ali, a hands-on builder with over 15 years of tiling, waterproofing and full bathroom rebuilds behind him.

We've completed more than 100 bathrooms across the Eastern Suburbs, Inner West, North Shore and South Sydney. Small apartments in Newtown, Federation terraces in Balmain, family homes in Randwick. We've seen every layout Sydney throws at you and we know how to get the best out of it.

Every renovation is fully managed under one roof: design, demolition, waterproofing, tiling, plumbing, electrical and fit-off. You deal with one person from the first call to handover.

Our Bathroom Renovation Services Sydney

Small Bathroom Renovations Sydney

Most Sydney apartments and inner-city terraces were built with bathrooms that feel tight. The good news is that a well-planned small bathroom renovation can make a compact space genuinely comfortable. We're experienced in working with floor plans under 4 sqm, and we get the layout right before a single tile goes in.

We use wall-hung vanities to free up floor space, large-format tiles to reduce grout lines and open the room visually, frameless shower screens to let light through, and recessed niches to keep the benchtop clear. The result is a bathroom that works hard without feeling cluttered.

Ensuite Renovations Sydney

Your ensuite gets used every single day. It should be easy to use, properly ventilated, and feel like it belongs in the rest of your home, not like it was left behind from a 1990s display suite.

We design en-suites that balance function and feel. Good task lighting at the mirror. A shower that's properly waterproofed won't give you problems in three years. A vanity layout that gives both people in the household enough space. If you want to upgrade to a frameless screen, freestanding bath or a heated towel rail, we can work that into the build.

Full Bathroom Renovations Sydney

When the whole bathroom needs to go, a complete strip-out and rebuild is the right call. It's also the opportunity to get the layout exactly how you want it.

We handle everything from demolition through to the final clean: new waterproofing membrane to current Australian Standards, licensed plumbing and electrical rough-ins, tiling, and a full fit-off of all fixtures. You receive compliance certificates for waterproofing, plumbing and electrical work at handover. This is important if you're planning to sell or strata-manage the property.

Luxury Bathroom Renovations Sydney

For homeowners who want to push the finishes further, our luxury bathroom builds bring together premium materials and considered design. Stone benchtops, freestanding baths, custom-built joinery, underfloor heating, frameless glass showers, and LED mirror cabinets. We work with suppliers who stock the best Australian and European product ranges and can help you navigate selections without it becoming a full-time job.

A well-executed luxury bathroom adds real value to a Sydney property. We've completed upgrades in Mosman, Double Bay and Paddington, where the bathroom became the standout room in the home.

About Ali and the Team

Ali is the licensed builder behind Aussie Bathroom Renovations. He started in the trade on older Sydney homes, the kind of work where you're dealing with 1960s plumbing, waterproofing that was never done the first time properly, and layouts that made sense to someone fifty years ago but don't anymore.

Over 15 years, that hands-on background turned into a genuine expertise in bathroom rebuilds. Ali manages every project directly. He's on site, the one you call with questions, and the one who does the final walkthrough with you at handover. The team he works with are all licensed tradespeople: plumbers, electricians, tilers and waterproofers who've worked together long enough that jobs run smoothly.

What clients consistently say: Ali communicates clearly, the trades show up when they're supposed to, the price quoted is the price charged, and the finished result matches what was discussed at the start. That's what we aim for on every job.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS ARE SAYING

How the Process Works

A bathroom renovation has a lot of moving parts, but the process doesn't need to be stressful. Here's how we run it.

  1. Consultation and quote. We visit your home anywhere in Sydney, measure the space properly, and ask the right questions about how you use the bathroom and what matters most. You get a written, itemised quote with no vague "starting from" figures.

  2. Design and selections. We work through layout options, tile choices, fixture selections and finishes with you. You'll get a clear selection sheet so nothing is ambiguous before work starts.

  3. Planning and approvals. If your property needs strata approval or council sign-off, we manage that process. We also book the licensed trades and lock in your schedule.

  4. Demolition and prep. The existing bathroom is stripped out, any structural or waterproofing issues are addressed, and the space is prepared for the new build.

  5. Plumbing and electrical rough-ins. Licensed trades complete all service work before the walls and floors close up.

  6. Waterproofing and tiling. Waterproofing is applied by a certified waterproofer to current Australian Standards. Tiling follows with clean set-outs and mitred corners where specified.

  7. Fit-off. Vanity, toilet, shower screen, bath, mirrors and accessories go in and are tested.

  8. Handover. Final walkthrough with you. Compliance certificates provided. Site cleaned. Job done.

Why Sydney Homeowners Choose Aussie Bathroom Renovations

One person to deal with, start to finish. You're not handed off to a project manager you've never met halfway through the job. Ali runs the project from quote to handover. If something unexpected comes up during demolition, and it does in older Sydney homes, you hear about it straight away, and we work out the best approach together.

Fixed-price contracts, no moving targets. Your quote is itemised and fixed. We don't have a habit of finding reasons to add to it halfway through. If there's genuinely unforeseen structural or plumbing work required after opening up the walls, we'll show you exactly what we found and give you a clear picture of what it means before anything proceeds.

Licensed trades and compliance certificates. We engage licensed plumbers and electricians on every job. At handover, you receive compliance certificates for waterproofing, plumbing and electrical work. These matter for insurance, strata records and resale.

15 years of Sydney bathroom experience. Sydney homes are not all the same. Waterloo apartments have different challenges from Mosman homes or Newtown terraces. We've worked across all of them, and that local knowledge makes a real difference to how a job is planned and how smoothly it runs.

We clean up after ourselves. We remove all demolition waste from the site. You don't come home to a skip bin in your driveway. The site is kept clean throughout the job, and the bathroom is spotless at handover.

What Does a Bathroom Renovation Cost in Sydney?

It's the question everyone asks first, and fair enough. Here's an honest answer.

Bathroom renovation costs in Sydney vary considerably depending on the size of the room, the condition of the existing waterproofing and plumbing, the materials you choose, and whether any structural changes are involved. That said, here are realistic ballpark figures based on what we see regularly across Sydney.

Small bathroom or ensuite (under 5 sqm). A full renovation including waterproofing, tiling, vanity, toilet and shower fitout typically runs between $15,000 and $22,000 for a standard-finish result. Premium selections, custom joinery or complex layout changes will add to that.

Medium bathroom (5 to 8 sqm). Expect a complete renovation to sit in the $20,000 to $30,000 range for mid-range finishes. This covers full strip-out, new waterproofing, tiling, vanity, bath if included, and all fixtures.

Luxury or high-end finishes. Feature stone, custom joinery, freestanding baths, underfloor heating and frameless glass can push a project to $35,000 and above. We'll tell you honestly what adds value and what doesn't.

What drives costs up in older Sydney homes. Failed waterproofing that has caused timber damage or concrete cancer. Old cast-iron plumbing that needs rerouting. Asbestos in walls or floors of pre-1990 homes, where we manage the licensed removal process. These are the hidden factors that can affect a job, which is why an in-person assessment matters more than an online quote.

The best way to get an accurate figure is to have us come to your property. It takes about 45 minutes, and there's no obligation.

Bathroom Renovation Costs & FAQs

Most Sydney bathroom renovations sit somewhere between $15,000 and $30,000 for a complete job with mid-range finishes. A small ensuite under 5 sqm with solid tile and fixture selections usually lands in the $15,000 to $22,000 range. A larger bathroom or one with a bath, better tiles or upgraded tapware typically runs $22,000 to $30,000. Luxury finishes, freestanding baths, custom joinery, or underfloor heating can push the price above $35,000.

The honest answer is that every Sydney bathroom is different. The condition of the existing waterproofing, whether plumbing needs rerouting, and what's hiding behind the walls in an older home all affect the final number. We visit your home, assess the space thoroughly, and provide you with a fixed, itemised quote. No ballpark figures over the phone.

For most small to medium Sydney bathrooms, allow two to four weeks from demolition through to handover. Larger bathrooms, those involving structural changes, or jobs where custom joinery is involved can run four to six weeks.

We give you a clear schedule before work starts. If something unexpected turns up during demolition, which does happen in older Sydney homes, we let you know straight away rather than letting it quietly push the timeline out.

We manage everything. Waterproofing, plumbing, electrical, tiling and fit-out are all included and carried out by licensed tradespeople as part of the project. You deal with one person from the first call to handover. There's no coordinating separate trades, no chasing people to show up, and no gaps in accountability when something needs sorting.

Our quotes are fixed and itemised. What we quote is what you pay, as long as the scope stays the same. The one exception is genuinely unforeseen work after demolition, such as discovering that waterproofing failure has caused timber rot, or finding old cast-iron pipes that need replacing rather than extending.

When that happens, we stop, show you exactly what we found, and give you a clear variation price before anything further proceeds. There are no surprise invoices waiting for you at the end of the job.

Yes, and we do it regularly. Strata renovations need a bit more planning: owners corporation approval, working within the building's by-laws, noise restrictions and careful coordination with the building manager. We know the strata approval process well and can help you prepare the documentation and manage the application. All waterproofing and structural work is completed to Australian Standards, which is what your owners' corporation will require.

At handover you receive compliance certificates for waterproofing, plumbing and electrical work. These are legal requirements under the NSW Home Building Act and they matter well beyond the renovation itself. They're important for your home insurance, for strata records if you're in an apartment, and for any future buyer's solicitor when you sell. We also do a full walkthrough with you before we consider the job finished.
